In stereotypical fashion, the third child documentation of the first year was definitely neglected. Let's see what I can remember from the fastest year of my life! What a joy it has been to have Jonah in our home and to see how much his big brothers adore him.
Even though his was just itty bitty at birth, he quickly gained weight and almost doubled his birth weight in his first month. Since 4 months he's always been in the top 10% for height and weight.
Packing on the pounds like a good chunky baby should! He went through a short period of HATING the car, but thankfully outgrew it quickly.
Started laughing! Started eating solids but wasn't really crazy about them. He never liked rice cereal or oatmeal, but tolerated fruits and veggies.
Sitting like a big boy! Big brother Lukie wanted to help hold the sign.
Missing pictures for 11 and 12 months. Jonah took his first steps a couple of weeks before he turned one. We got to Brussels the day before Jonah turned one and by the time we left he was full on walking! He was our earliest walker and I attribute it for wanting to keep with his brothers and for just wanted to explore everything!
He has been a decent sleeper for the most part. He first slept through the night around 2 months. He still wakes up occasionally at night but just needs a binky. He likes his naps and usually goes down without a problem and sleeps 2-3 hours. Poor kid has to be flexible with his naps thanks for bigger kid schedules, but he does pretty well.
Jonah can make his eyes go wall-eyed on purpose. He gets a reaction out of Taft and Luke when he does it and thinks he's pretty funny. I was a little freaked out by it and took him to ophthalmologist. It's not a big deal and should go away over time. In the meantime, he can make himself look possessed at any given time. :)
He still doesn't love many foods but loves his milk. He is attached to one specific blankie and still takes a binky.
He takes a beating almost daily by falling or tripping into something but is a tough little dude. He usually has some kind of mark or his head or chin. He just recently started climbing things and I'm convinced he'll be our first kid to visit the ER for an injury. He's always on the move and doesn't really like to be held or to kept from whatever his task at hand is. However, if you have his binky and blankie he'll give you a good snuggle. Especially right before bed or right when he wakes up. I cherish those brief moments.
We think his first word was "this". He says momma and dada, but doesn't seem to really say them to intentionally get our attention. He talks a lot but so far it's all a hilarious form of gibberish.
Just like Taft and Luke he LOVES music and now always dances when he hears music.
We are so glad this crazy, wild, super cute boy is ours.
